[Enhancement Request] Add Millisecond Accuracy to Timestamp

Post by MrPike »

Hi James,
Great work! I'm using the app to record data whilst conducting research.
Just a small enhancement request -

Is it possible to add millisecond accuracy to the timestamps?

I have added this to Muse Monitor.

However, you should note that the timestamps reported by the Muse API are not 100% accurate. The timestamps appear to not be being generated by the hardware but by the LibMuse software API and as such are subject to processing overhead and bluetooth stack buffering. This means that timestamps that should be equally spaced are sometimes clustered together and some with long apparent delays between them.

I have spoken to Interaxon about this issue and they have assured me, that on the hardware the data is actually being processed equidistantly at 256Hz and that for the purpose of analysis you should treat the samples as equally spaced out.
